Frequently Asked Questions

What sort of issues can EFT help with?

EFT can help with a wide range of mental, physical and emotional issues such as stress, anxiety, panic, depression, anger, trauma, PTSD, sleep issues, eating disorders and more.

For chronic health issues such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and heart disease EFT can help with unresolved emotional issues that may be contributing to the condition, and most certainly will help with the stress and anxiety of dealing with the medical system and everyday life when you have such a condition.

EFT is not a substitute for mental health treatment and should be seen as complementary to and assisting medical treatment.

Do you offer sessions online via Zoom?

Yes! Rather than being limited by how close you are to Tap4Health's location, or having to worry about traffic and parking, you can have your sessions from the convenience of wherever you are in the world. All you need is access to the internet and the Zoom online meeting client (free to download).

Why see an EFT Practitioner when EFT is so easy to do yourself?

EFT is so simple to use that many people can apply it to themselves successfully. So why work with an EFT practitioner?

A client once said to Rod, "I just want someone outside my own head!" The EFT Practitioner is there to facilitate your healing journey using their empathy and skills to make it as gentle, safe and complete as possible. Dealing with serious issues is much easier when there is someone there to be with you along the way.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions will always be different for each person as everyone’s situation is unique. While some people experience amazing results in just one session, most people take a few more. The number of sessions is determined more by the complexity of the problem rather than the severity. If there is a specific event that you know of, such as a trauma or accident, this can be dealt with in just a few sessions. On average, most people will benefit from 3-5 sessions.

How does EFT work?

A simple explanation is that EFT works by resetting the brain and nervous system from chronic stress and trauma. Once the brain is reset, the body returns to a more normal state of wellbeing.

This resetting is done by tapping with the fingers on a series of points of the face, upper body and hands. The specific points map to acupuncture meridians but thankfully we don't have to use needles. These points communicate with the body's nervous system to reset stuck patterns.

What scientific research is there to support EFT and Energy Psychology?

This EFT research bibliography lists more than 100 papers published in peer-reviewed professional journals. These studies show that EFT is effective as a self-help tool, while it is also used in many healthcare settings by medical and mental health professionals.

While EFT and energy psychology as a field is still relatively young, its evidence base continues to grow in both quantity and quality. As of August 2020, over 115 research studies, 5 meta-analyses and 13 review articles have been published on EP methods in peer-reviewed journals. These modalities have been researched by more than 200 investigators in over 12 countries. Over fifty randomized controlled trials have documented efficacy for these methods.
