Using EFT to Handle Uncertainty

Ever felt uncertain about which way to go in life? Uncertain about what your life purpose is? Uncertain about whether to stay or to leave a relationship? Uncertain about whether to stay or leave a city? Uncertain about what to have for lunch?

Usually, when we are swinging between different decisions, we are stuck in our head and trying to use logic to come to a decision. Underneath our thinking is a churn of emotions wanting to be acknowledged. I’ll show you a way to use EFT to clear the emotional issues for each decision helping you get clear on your choice.

I will use only two choices in this example but if you have more that two choices in a situation then just continue doing this for all of your choices. I will use ‘choice A’ and ‘choice B’ to represent the two choices you are uncertain about. Please substitute your own words for your choices e.g. “Even though I’m uncertain about staying in this town or moving to the coast,…

In the EFT setup acknowledge the conflict in yourself between the choices you have. Keep the tapping points guide handy as you work through the process.

Karate Chop
Point:
Even though I’m uncertain about whether to choose A or B, I accept this conflict within myself.
Even though I think A and B are both good, I accept myself. Even though there are downsides to both A and B, I accept myself.
Even though I’m mentally worn out trying to make up my mind about these issues, I release the need the decide right now and ask my subconscious mind and higher self to clearly communicate the best choice for me.

Now pick one of the decisions and start tapping through the rest of the points. At each point you will tap on one perceived positive thing about choice A and on the next point you will tap on one perceived downside of choice A. Continue tapping through the points until you run out of considerations about choice A.

Head: Choice A is good because… (be sure to complete the sentence for your choice at each point)
Eyebrows: Choice A is not good because…
Side of Eyes: I like choice A because…
Under Eyes I don’t like choice A because…
Under Nose: I want to do choice A because…
Chin Point: I don’t want to do choice A because…
Collarbones: Choice A is better for me because…
Under Arms: I don’t like … about choice A
Wrists: Even though Choice A has good and bad sides, I accept the uncertainty in myself.

Now repeat the same series of tapping only this time substitute choice B into the phrases as you say them. If you have more than two choices then continue tapping through each of the alternatives that you are considering.

After these rounds of tapping, give yourself a break from thinking about the problem for at least 1 hour and preferably a night’s sleep. Then reconsider the situation and you will find you have a new perspective and much more certainty about the choice to make – and the choice you ultimately make may be completely different from the alternatives you tapped on. Look forward to being pleasantly surprised!
