Get Started on Global Issues with a Brain Dump
Maybe you have a problem that’s pretty global like self-worth, or sabotaging relationships, or money problems and you would like to be more specific before applying EFT.
One way to start is to do a brain dump of all the aspects that make up this general issue. You can do this by just writing a list down or using a mind map.
In your brain dump, write down all events, beliefs, and people that are in some way related to the issue. You might have several levels for each item that you identify. For example, for one particular event you identify a number of different aspects of that event.
Of course, if you have any hesitation, fear or anxiety about exploring this issue, be sure to use EFT on that first. Once you have jotted down all the aspects, events, comments, and beliefs about the main issue then you can go to work on each of the individual issues with EFT.
Doing a brain dump has a number of benefits. It helps you establish some objectivity and distance from the problem because now it is all down on paper in front of you. It also helps you see that the problem does have a limit; it is not all consuming.
And finally, it is quite satisfying to cross each item off the list after you clear it with EFT. You can actually see the progress you are making!
